An antique engine carrying fallen firefighter Mark Falkenhan led more than 400 apparatus in the procession to Dulaney Valley Memorial Gardens. The 1954 Mack B-Model belongs to Lutherville VFC.

Firefighter Falkenhan, 43, a volunteer for Lutherville (Maryland) VFC, died last Wednesday while battling an apartment fire.

A woman who says Firefighter Falkenhan told her not to jump and rescued her from her third floor apartment called him a hero. Read her story and watch the video here.

He was posthumously awarded the Medal of Honor and Purple Heart. Baltimore County’s press release is here.

ABC2′s story on Firefighter Falkenhan’s funeral and burial can be found here.

Video of the viewing this weekend for Firefighter Falkenhan and links to previous coverage on STATter911 is here.
