FUNDING:

MAPLETON, UTAH: $190,000 grant from FEMA will help purchase a new tanker. It will replace the town’s 1952 Studebaker tanker (pictured above) and 1962 Ford Pumper. The Daily Herald has more here.

ST. LOUIS, MICHIGAN: $285,000 in federal money will help the department buy a new pumper. More here from the Morning Sun.

McLEAN, VIRGINIA: $1,000 from Transurban-Fluor to the McLean Volunteer Fire Department in Fairfax, Virginia, to restore one of the department’s antique engines. The Patch has the full story here.

NEW DELIVERIES:

WHITEHALL, NEW YORK: The Whitehall Volunteer Fire Company held an open house over the weekend to show the public its new 2010 Pierce Saber. More on the new truck here on PostStar.com.

FORT DODGE, IOWA: New Engine 4 replaces 2 older units and was purchased in part with federal grant money. Built by Toyne Inc., it carries 300 gallons of water and can pump 1,250 gallons per minute. The Messenger has more here.
