The Muskegon Heights Fire Department in Michigan has taken delivery of their new engine.  The pumper has a 1250 GPM pump and a 1000 gallon tank and will be in service in about two weeks after training is completed.  According to the Muskegon Chronicle the pumper will be replacing a 1988 model.  For full story click here.

The truck’s body was built by Alexis Fire Equipment Company in Illinois and the chassis was provided by HME of Wyoming, Mich. The truck was paid for with a $300,000 federal grant and a $15,000 local match by the city...

Lt. Chris Dean, who is handling most of the department’s administrative duties, said the new truck will provide for better response in serving the residents and a morale boost for the firefighters.

“It is nice to have this new, updated equipment to work with,” Dean said, pointing out that most of the department’s equipment is at least 11 years old. “It brings us more up to date.”
