Firefighter Injured After Truck And Car Collide: A Poughkeepsie firefighter and the driver of a car were transported to the hospital after a collision Tuesday morning. Police say the fire truck was responding to a call and had started through an intersection after stopping when the car struck its side. The injuries do not appear to be serious. Tools Stolen From Fire Engine On Scene Of House Fire: Thieves took a flat-head ax and a forceable-entry tool from a fire engine while firefighters battled a house fire in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. New Deliveries Come In Multiples:
Spotsylvania County, Virginia, ordered and took delivery of these three trucks through C.W. Williams from Rosenbauer.
According C.W. Williams’ site, the key feature of the Spartan/Rosenbauer Heavy Rescue (right) “is the Amkus ‘Ultimate’ system that will accomodate 6 rescue tools and is set up with two 100′ hydraulic reels and four 200′ reels.”

Spotsylvania took delivery of 2 Spartan/Rosenbauer 1500/750 Custom Pumpers (right). They have the following specs:
– Carry 750 gallons of water
– Will operate Hale QMAX 1500 gpm pumps
– 10kW Onan generator
– Six (6) 1000 watt quartz scene lights
– Brow lights on the cab and a RotoRay
– Front bumpers with a large suction connection and a discharge
– Front bumper trays will carry 20′ suction hose and 150′ of 1 3/4″ trash line
– Rear center compartment with 100′ hydraulic reel and electric power unit for rescue tools

The Bull Lake (Montana) Fire District purchased two Type 2 Engines from the California State Emergency Management Agency’s Surplus Equipment Program. The Western News says the trucks arrived in October but had to undergo testing and modification before they could go into service. For more, click here.
